GoFundMe Page Set Up For Eden Prairie Stabbing Victim

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover funeral expenses for the young Eden Prairie mother fatally stabbed on Saturday.

The page identifies the victim as Lyuba Savenok. It says the 23-year-old was also pregnant with a son.

Savenok died after being stabbed multiple times in her home on Saturday morning, police say.

Her husband, 30-year-old Yeveginy Savenok, turned himself in to police.

Authorities say Yeveginy Savenok has been arrested in the past for domestic assault. He was slated to go on trial later this year.

The GoFundMe page is asking for $100,000 for funeral expenses and funds for the children.

"We wish to honor Lyuba and her son and bury them in a beautiful place where she may be visited by friends and family," a statement on the GoFundMe Page reads. "Lyuba's greatest passion in life was to enrich her children's lives."

In the hours since the page was created on Sunday, more $11,000 was raised.
