Jordana's Blog: Splurging
Monday is the birthday of a friend. He's a grown man with two kids, a lovely wife and good job. When I asked what he's doing for his birthday I was expecting, "Dinner with the family, reading cards, maybe going to the Twins game."
Nope. He grinned. So I pressed, "What did you get for your birthday?" Again I expected, "A new shirt," or, "A leaf blower," or maybe a splurge like, "A new lawn mower."
Nope. He and his wife bought a pool table and he plans to fully enjoy it. Well done!
When was the last time you bought or accepted an expensive, lavish gift? Too long, huh? I know we often aren't in a position to spend lots of money on a non-necessity but it sure is fun when we do.
