Gophers Travel To Florida State For ACC/Big Ten Challenge

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will travel to Florida State this year for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

The Gophers hosted Clemson in last year's event, an 89-83 win at Williams Arena. Minnesota will be looking for its six straight victory in the series.

The game will be played on Monday, Nov. 28, in Tallahassee, Fla. A game time will be announced at a later date. The game will mark the 11th meeting between the two schools and fourth since 2012. The last meeting was in the semifinals of the 2014 NIT in coach Richard Pitino's first season, a 67-64 overtime victory.

The Gophers lead the all-time series between the two schools 6-4. It's also Minnesota's 18th appearance in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Florida State went 20-14 last season, 8-10 in the ACC and lost in the second round of the NIT.

Minnesota is coming off an 8-23 season.
