Alcohol Detected On Wrong-Way Driver In I-394 Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Alcohol was detected on a wrong-way driver who crashed on Interstate 394 early Thursday morning, according to Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the report, 24-year-old Christopher M. Gundel, of Savage, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of I-394 just before 2:30 a.m. when a Camry, driven by 26-year-old Farhiya A. Mohamud, traveling the eastbound came toward him.

Mohamud swerved, and Gundel hit the Camry on the passenger side.

Both vehicles came to rest in the lanes.

There were no apparent injuries reported.
