Lindsey Vonn Returns To Minn. For Meet And Greet

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota gold medal Olympian is back in her home state Friday.

Alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn is holding a meet and greet as part of the speaker series for the Lindsey Vonn Foundation.

She said her foundation's mission is to promote female empowerment.

"I just want to inspire and empower girls to do whatever it is that they dream of doing. I didn't want to do a foundation where it was specific to any one thing," Vonn said. "It's not about skiing, it's not about necessarily sports, it's just about having the courage to follow your dreams."

Author Rosalind Wiseman is the featured speaker. Her New York Times bestseller, "Queen Bees and Wannabees: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Boyfriends, and the New Realities of Girl World," inspired the film "Mean Girls."

You can meet and get a picture with both women Friday at the Orpheum Theatre at 4:30 p.m. The event is free.
