Elk River Man Found Dead In Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 65-year-old Elk River man was discovered dead in Crow Wing County Wednesday afternoon.

The sheriff's office said that an unresponsive man was found at the end of the dock on Little Pine Lake at about 5:15 p.m.

Members of the Crosslake fire department along with a police officer retrieved the man from the water, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was fishing equipment at the end of the dock.

The victim was later identified as Gerald Norbert Becker.

The cause of his death will be determined pending review by the Ramsey County coroner.
