Mine To Open In August, Bringing Hundreds Of Jobs To Iron Range
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Good news came Thursday for unemployed miners on the Iron Range.
Hundreds of job will be opening earlier than expected.
Cliffs Natural Resources announced the United Taconite facility in Eveleth and Forbes will reopen in August, two months ahead of schedule.
The company has 450 employees in Minnesota.
Sen. Al Franken's office says it's been working to crack down on illegal trade practices by foreign countries that hurt Minnesota's Iron Range businesses.
