Allina Health, MNA To Resume Contract Negotiations

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Negotiators from the Minnesota Nurses Association have tentatively agreed to return to the bargaining table with negotiators from Allina Health after the federal mediator urged the two parties to meet.

MNA announced they will meet with Allina on Monday if Allina allows working nurses on the negotiating team to miss work to attend the meeting.

Allina released a statement Friday saying they hope to come to an agreement before nurses at Abbott Northwestern, Phillips Eye Institute, Mercy, Unity and United hospitals go on a seven day strike on June 19.

Nurses voted to reject Allina's contract offer and authorize a strike on Monday. On Wednesday, MNA delivered a 10-day notice of intent to strike to Allina Health executives.
