Hotel Ivy Reveals $580K Penthouse Renovation

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Less than a year after renovating all of its rooms, the Hotel Ivy has unveiled yet another upgrade to its downtown Minneapolis space.

On Tuesday, just a month after finishing, the Hotel Ivy revealed its new Penthouse Suite.

In January 2015 the hotel began major renovations, the first in its eight-year history. These included updating all 136 guestrooms and 90 condominiums that wrap around the historic Ivy Tower.

After completing the $8 million upgrades, hotel officials decided the Penthouse Suite needed a facelift of its own.

After months of construction, the new suite was completed in May 2016.

Using its relationship with Moët Hennessy as inspiration, the suite channeled quality and luxury.

Upon check in, each Penthouse guest receives a bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne.

After toasting their stay, guests can place their belongings in their bedroom that is complete with a king bed and master bath. The master bath houses a dual waterfall shower, a stand-alone deep soak tub and heated floors.

The suite also comes and a 30-person lounge area on the second story. Two guest rooms, one with a king bed and one with two-queens, can also be added in with the Penthouse for an additional charge.

Mirrors throughout the Penthouse are equipped with LED lighting and Bluetooth technology, and every outlet has a USB port.

The impressive suite was made even more luxurious with the addition of panoramic windows surrounding the indoor living space and a rooftop bar.

But perhaps the largest architecture change to the 2,500-square-foot space was the removal of the previous interior ceiling. The ceiling now reaches 28-feet and is capped by the building's historic cupola.

Just as with all other rooms within the Hotel Ivy, staff is on hand to offer recommendations for things to see and do in the city that are personalized for each guests.

And, if Penthouse guests feel the need to leave, the Hotel Ivy houses the Venetia cocktail bar, Italian restaurant Monello and late-night escape Constantine.
