Sheriff: Mother & Daughter Arrested In Murder-For-Hire Plot

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A mother and daughter are in jail accused of plotting to kill the daughter's ex-husband, according to the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Dave Tietz identified the women as 41-year-old Blanche Elizabeth Wilson of La Sueur and her mother, 59-year-old Linda Kay Bloom of Cleveland, Ohio.

According to Tietz, the sheriff's office was contacted by a person who said Bloom and Wilson were talking about hiring someone to kill Wilson's ex-husband. The person said the motive was because the ex-husband recently received custody of the two minor children he fathered with Wilson.

Tietz says an undercover officer was introduced to the two during the course of the investigation. Over several meetings, Bloom and Wilson told the undercover officer where the ex-husband lived and worked, and provided pictures of him. In exchange for killing the ex-husband, the two agreed to pay the undercover officer and sign over the ownership of motor vehicle.

Wilson again met with the officer on Thursday, June 23, where the officer showed photographs of the ex-husband's "staged" dead body. After the meeting, Wilson was arrested in Cleveland. Wilson was later arrested at another family member's residence in rural Le Seuer County.

Both women have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, which is a felony. If convicted, they could face up to 20 years in prison.

Both women are in the Le Sueur County Jail. Bail hearings are pending for Friday afternoon.
