Woman Killed In N. Minneapolis Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are investigating after a woman was found shot inside a vehicle in north Minneapolis late Monday night.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, around 11:15 p.m. officers responded to a call for help for a woman, later identified as 19-year-old Coshay'e Monae Brown, who had been shot on the 1800 block of Penn Avenue North.

Upon arrival, police found Brown inside a car who had suffered gunshot wounds.

Police administered emergency aid to her and transported her to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers and investigators are on the scene canvassing the neighborhood and speaking with witnesses.
