Prisoner, 19, Escapes From Fillmore County Jail

[UPDATE: As of 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office reported that the prisoner had been caught. Below is the story as it originally ran.]

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Officials in Fillmore County are asking for the public's help in locating a 19-year-old man who escaped from the county's jail.

According to the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office, during a breakfast wake up on Tuesday at 6:15 a.m., a Fillmore County correction officer was unable to account for a prisoner. It was determined that the prisoner had escaped custody.

That prisoner is identified as Dylan Bathke, who is in jail on charges of motor vehicle theft, second-degree assault, terroristic threats and fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.

The sheriff's office is working on locating and apprehending Bathke, but anyone with information is asked to contact its office at 507-765-3874.

Authorities do not believe there is a public safety threat to the general public.
