Slight Chance For Severe Storms Monday Evening

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After storms rumbled through Minnesota Sunday morning, more are expected Monday as the heat and humidity crank up.

The National Weather Service says almost all of Minnesota and western Wisconsin are under a slight risk of seeing severe weather. The storms Monday evening threaten to bring large hail, damaging winds and possibly tornadoes.

Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says there'll be scattered showers in northern Minnesota on Monday morning. Throughout the day, the heat and humidity will turn up, and highs will be in the low 90s.

In the afternoon, stronger storms will develop in western Minnesota. The line of storms will move across the state, hitting the Twin Cities metro in the evening.

Looking ahead, Tuesday is expected to bring storms, and a cool down looks to be in store for later in the week.
