Twins To Induct Hunter, Gordon To Hall Of Fame

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's Hall of Fame weekend for the Minnesota Twins, and two big names for fans will become the 27th and 28th members of the club.

Former outfielder and fan-favorite Torii Hunter will be inducted Saturday as the Twins host the Indians at Target field. On Sunday, long-time Twins radio broadcaster John Gordon will be inducted.

Hunter's ceremony will be emceed by TV broadcaster Dick Bremer and will include a video tribute including current and former Twins. Eddie Guardado and Rod Carew will also be part of the ceremony, and Hunter's Hall of Fame print will be unveiled on the field.

Hunter will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch to manager Paul Molitor. He played 12 of his 19 seasons with the Twins and was a five-time All-Star.

Bremer will also emcee Gordon's ceremony on Sunday. It will feature a video tribute and appearances by Jim Rants and Carew. Gordon will also throw out the first pitch.

Gordon was the Twins' play-by-play voice on the radio for 25 years.
