3-Year-Old Pulled From Septic Tank In St. Louis Co. Dies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The 3-year-old boy who fell into a septic tank in Two Harbors over the weekend has passed away.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, St Louis County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a boy, later identified Mick Johnston, who had fallen into a septic tank.

Upon arrival, officials were able to pull Johnston from the tank. He was unresponsive and taken to Essentia St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. He was listed in critical condition.

On Tuesday morning, authorities from Essentia St. Mary's said Johnston had died.

The exact cause of death is still unknown. However, authorities said it could be from complications caused by the fall.
