Minneapolis Native To Protest Hillary With DNC 'Fart-In'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis native plans to make a real stink when Hillary Clinton takes the stage at the Democratic National Convention Thursday night.

Anti-poverty activist Cheri Honkala organized a "fart-in" in her Philadelphia neighborhood Thursday afternoon, where she hosted a "massive bean supper," according to CBS Philadelphia.

Honkala, co-founder of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, invited Bernie Sanders' delegates to feast on the fabled music fruit, with the ultimate goal of filling Wells Fargo Center with toots.

"Bernie, eat beans with us and join us in the fart-in," Honkala said in an interview with CBS Philadelphia last month. "We're hoping that farting is not against the law yet – it might well be soon. But it was the only thing we could think of that's not considered illegal these days."

Honkala says she aims to match Clinton's "rhetorical flatulence" with, well, genuine flatulence.

Thankfully, "Smell-O-Vision" is not yet standard on most high-definition television sets.
