Twins Reinstate Trevor Plouffe, Send Buxton To AAA

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins announced Sunday that Trevor Plouffe will be reinstated from the disabled list before Monday night's game against the Houston Astros at Target Field.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Twins are optioning outfielder Byron Buxton to Triple-A Rochester. For the season, Buxton is hitting just .193 with 80 strikeouts in 197 at bats.

Before getting injured with a broken rib in early July, Plouffe was hitting .252 on the season with seven homers and 27 RBI.

The Twins went 5-2 on this week's road trip and are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
