FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) — While a dark cloud was over Winter Park on Tuesday, the sun was shining on the Minnesota State Fair.

The gorgeous weather may have helped Chris Shaffer win the blue ribbon in the animal call contest. The meteorologist has actually never lost the annual competition!

Meanwhile, Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield went shopping on the fairgrounds and found some hardy winter headwear.

Also, a doctor stopped by the WCCO booth to talk about importance of sunscreen, and Frank and Amelia sampled some fancy corndogs and cookie-flavored beer.

You can see all of this in the videos below.

And if you’re at the fair, come see us! Our booth is at the corner of Carnes and Dan Patch. You can watch one of our newscasts and even report on the Great Minnesota Get-Together in our State Fair Experience.
