Ellison Calls For Life-Saving Medications To Be More Affordable

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After EpiPen prices began soaring sky high, many are calling for laws to deal with the rising cost of medications. Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison is working on the issue.

The Democrat wants to make sure prescriptions -- from EpiPens to MS meds -- stay affordable for patients, especially seniors.

"We have no problem with you making a profit, but when you are going to gouge the people least able to pay, then we are going to step up and assert the public interest," Rep. Ellison said.

Rep. Ellison wants to allow people to buy less expensive drugs from other countries, but he wants to make sure the safety standards are in place.
