MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Four people tubing on the Chippewa River were rescued after becoming stranded on an island Saturday night.

According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, just before 10 p.m. the Dunn County Communications Center received a report of four adults who were stranded on an island on the river.

The caller said they were tubing down the river when the sun set before they reached their destination.

The caller didn’t know exactly where they were, but said they were downstream from the CTH H bridge.

About an hour later, Dunn County deputies and other personnel located the four on the river.

All four were safe and were transported back to the Holte boat landing.

Maybe should have left them and they’d learned to pay heed – only bad thing would be the skeeter bites they had. ;p
