Columbia Heights PD: Robbers Strike Neighborhood 2 Days In Row

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are asking for the public's help after a Columbia Heights neighborhood was hit by two robberies in two days.

Both robberies occurred in the area near 43rd Avenue and 5th Street, but Columbia Heights police say they do not know if the cases are connected.

The suspects were described as African-American men in both cases. A witness in one of the cases told police the man was between 20 and 30 years old, stood about 5-feet-10-inches tall and had a thin build. He was unshaven, had shorter, curly black hair and had tattoos on his upper arms and shoulders. He wore a white tank top, black shoes and black jeans or shorts.

A witness in the other case told investigators the suspect had a pencil-thin mustache and an upper gold tooth.

Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call Columbia Heights Police at 763-427-1212.
