Body Of Student From Eden Prairie Recovered From River

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The body of a college student from Eden Prairie was recovered from a river in Decorah, Iowa over the weekend.

The city's police department said that the body of 21-year-old Bjorn Norderhaug was found in the Upper Iowa River near Clay Hill Road just outside of town.

Luther College confirmed that Norderhaug was a student there, a computer science major who was reported missing on Saturday.

"The Luther community is devastated by this loss and continues to pray for Bjorn's family. We ask that the community come together and support one another in this difficult time," Luther President Paula Carlson said.

The school said there would be a gathering for prayer and remembrance at the Center for Faith and Life Recital Hall at 6 p.m. Monday.

It was not immediately clear what led to Norderhaug's death.
