MNfusion: Havana Hat Trick, Biscuits In The Basket On New Xcel Energy Menu

The puck is about to drop for the NHL's 2016 – 2017 regular season.

As the Minnesota Wild are preparing for their first match-up against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 13, Levy Restaurants and the Xcel Energy Center are preparing to feed the fans.

As stadiums get larger and more impressive their culinary offerings are following suit, and the Xcel's 2016 – 2017 offerings are no exception.

On Thursday, the "X" introduced its new Taste of Hockey menu.

From poutine to bratwurst, each dish is inspired by a different culture's cuisine.

Starting with a taste of the south, Biscuit in the Basket features a buttermilk breaded chicken breast on a biscuit, topped with hot sauce and pickles. If fans prefer to go north, there is the Pulled Pork Poutine featuring French fries with cheese curds, pulled pork and Guinness gravy.

The Bavarian Bratwurst takes taste buds overseas with a bratwurst on top of a soft Bavarian pretzel.

And rounding out the menu is the Havana Hat Trick – a braised pork and smoked ham sandwich topped with Swiss cheese on a Cuban roll.

The cultural inspirations continue with the Xcel's new Wilderia.

Full of Mexican flavors, like the chips with queso blanco and guacamole or the pork chili verde fries, the menu's main item is the Loco Perro.

Following last year's trend of topped hot dogs, the Loco Perro is a hot dog with seasoned taco meat, queso blanco and pico de gallo.

For more All-American fare, fans can head to the carveries.

Turkey and sirloin are available in sandwich or panini form; Caesar, potato and loaded macaroni round out the salads options; and cookies and bars are available for dessert.

But it's up on the Suite Level where fans get a little taste of everything.

Channeling the Wilderia, guests can enjoy sweet corn nachos.

Handmade soft pretzels bring in a taste of Bavaria, while hot dish dip keeps things local.

The Suite Level also incorporates Asian flavors with the char siu noodles and pork belly sliders.

In addition to all the new dishes, there will also be a new vendor: Pagoda Express. Located in Section 126, Pagoda Express will serve egg rolls, potstickers and orange chicken.
