This Woman's Pants May Be The Lynx's Secret Weapon

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Lynx fans showed up Tuesday night to support the team during Game 2 of their quest for another championship.

The team won, making it a 1-1 series.

Jacqueline Teisberg sits courtside at every home game, and she is hard to miss due to a certain article of clothing.

"They're just fun pants, I don't wear them for anything else," Jacqueline said. "People will say, 'Oh there's the lady with the pants.'"

This Lynx superfan has worn her wild pants to every home game for eight years, with the exception of one she missed.

"Our fans are so engaged," said Lynx Head Coach Cheryl Reeve.

The team sees the support sitting courtside.

"I think it's fun for them to look around and see the different personalities and I think that particular fan to know that they're going to be there every night," Cheryl said. "They take pride in what they're doing and they bring that passion. That stuff's contagious."

Jacqueline could not make it to Atlanta in 2013 when the Lynx swept the Dream, so she sent her pants with a friend.

"And she wore them and they won, so they've got to be the lucky pants," Jacqueline said.

It is a passion she shares with her daughter.

"They are very lucky," Veija Brookshire said. "I don't know that it has anything to do with Cheryl or our number-one draft picks or anything, I think it's all about the pants."

And so Jacqueline will keep with tradition by sporting her colorful pants, hoping they give the team a touch of luck.

"Their chemistry is so good, they're just so good," she said.

Jacqueline says this is more about fun than superstition, but she is looking for a friend to take the pants on the road again.

The series moves to Los Angeles on Sunday.
