Man Missing After Canoe Capsized On Leech Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A search is underway for a Federal Dam man who went missing after his canoe capsized on Leech Lake Tuesday.

According to the Cass County Sheriff's office, just before 7 p.m. authorities responded to a call of an overturned canoe on the east side of Leech Lake near Sugar Point.

A 66-year-old Federal Dam man had been in the canoe.

The Federal Dam Fire Department, Leech Lake Tribal Police, Leech Lake DNR, state DNR, Lakes Area Dive Team and the Minnesota State Patrol are working on the search.
