State Patrol: Sauk Rapids Woman Killed In Sartell Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 33-year-old Sauk Rapids woman was killed in a broadside crash in Sartell Friday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded at about 6:56 p.m. to the area of northbound Highway 15 and County Road 1 on a report of a crash. When officers arrived, they learned a Chevy Malibu was heading northbound on Highway 15 and traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a light pole at County Road 1. A GMC Sierra pick-up truck was stopped for a red light on County Road 1 when it was hit by the Malibu.

The driver of the Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene. It's not known if the driver of the other vehicle, a 40-year-old St. Joseph woman, was injured.

The victim was identified as Sheena Grimstad.

What led up the crash is under investigation. The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Sartell and Sauk Rapids police, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office and St. Cloud police.
