MN DFL Party Predicting Very Good Night For Clinton In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The crowds have not yet arrived at the Minnesota DFL headquarters at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Minneapolis early Tuesday evening, but there is definitely an air of optimism.

The optimism is for not just the Presidential race going the Democrats' way, but also key congressional races and legislative races going well for Democrats.

DFL Party Chair Ken Martin says he believes the turnout in Minnesota will likely be in excess of 75 percent, which puts in the neighborhood of the record turnouts that delivered Minnesota in 2008 and in 2012 for President Barack Obama.

"If we match what we saw, in terms of turnout in 2012, that 77 percent rate or higher, Democrats are going to have a good night," Martin said. "Certainly, right now, what we're seeing throughout the state, in precincts all over the state, is a pretty high turnout.

Martin says he is also very convinced that Democrats have capture more than 60 percent of that massive number in excess of 650, 000 absentee ballots being cast.

In other words, the Democrats are predicting they and Hillary Clinton are going to have a very, very good night in Minnesota.
