Karl-Anthony Towns Featured On ESPN The Magazine

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you've received your latest ESPN The Magazine, you'll recognize the man on the cover.

Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns is on the cover of the magazine, labeled the "Tall Boy" issue. The edition hit subscriber mailboxes on Tuesday, and it largely explores how height has impacted both the NBA and college basketball as well as how it will impact the game's future.

The issue will be available online on Thursday.

The article, written by Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN, highlights how versatile Towns' game is for a player of his size. He's labeled a modern day big man because he can score inside like most big men do, but he can also score off offensive rebounds and with mid-range and perimeter shooting. If that's not enough, he's shown the ability to take defenders off the dribble and score.

That's right, a 7 foot, 244-pound center scoring off the dribble.

Towns is the third Timberwolves player to appear on the cover of ESPN The Magazine. The others were Kevin Garnett in 1999, 2002 and 2003, and Wally Szczerbiak with Garnett in 2002.
