Gun Found In Backpack, Teen Arrested At Armstrong High
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in the northwest metro say a teenager was arrested Thursday at Armstrong High School after he allegedly threatened another student with a gun earlier this week.
The Plymouth Police Department says the 17-year-old student was arrested on a weapons violation for an incident that occurred Tuesday off school property.
In a letter to parents, officials at Armstrong High School say the student was removed from class Thursday after it was reported that he was seen with a firearm in the school parking lot.
The student admitted that he had a gun in his backpack, and a search produced an empty clip and a gun.
School officials say they take incidents such as this "very seriously," adding that the student will be disciplined.
The incident remains under investigation by Plymouth police.
