Alexandria Man Arrested After Cops Seize Meth, Prescription Drugs From Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An Alexandria man is in custody after officials seized over 120 grams of drugs from his home Thursday.

Kirk Johnson, 50, was arrested on charges of first-degree methamphetamine sales, second-degree methamphetamine possession, third-degree possession of a schedule II narcotic and fifth-degree possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.

According to Douglas County officials, on Thursday the West Central Minnesota Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, along with Alexandria police officers, executed a search warrant at a home on the 800 block of Fillmore Street. The warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation.

During the search, officers seized 36.8 grams of meth, 87.1 grams of prescription medication, drug paraphernalia and over $6,000 of suspected drug money.

Johnson was arrested and taken into custody.

Johnson is currently being held at Douglas County Jail awaiting formal charges.
