Minnesotans Donate Over $20M For Give To The Max Day

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesotans shattered records on Give to the Max Day 2016 when over $20 million was donated Thursday.

The 2016 totals broke the old record, which was set two years ago, by nearly $2 million.

At one point Thursday, people were giving so much it overloaded the Give MN servers. They were able to get the website back up and running later in the day.

Giving to the Max is all about donating money to schools and nonprofits whose mission is to help members of the community lead better lives.
