Car Driving Over 100 MPH Crashes, Leaves 1 Dead In Sawyer Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead after a single-car crash in Sawyer County, Wis. late Wednesday night.

According to the Sawyer County Sheriff's office, just after 11:30 p.m. officers received a call of a one-car crash on State Highway 77 near Eaton Road in Lenroot.

Upon arrival, officers learned the driver, 21-year-old Joseph D. Rady of Hayward, had been traveling eastbound on Hwy. 77 faster than 100 mph.

Rady apparently lost control, left the road and went in to a wooded area.

The car sustained extensive damage. Rady was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation.
