MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The man who many regard as the first employee of the Minnesota Twins has died.

Tom Mee held many roles within the Twins organization, most notably director of media relations for 30 years and then the team’s official scorer.

The St. Paul native began his baseball career in 1957 with the St. Paul Saints, then a Triple-A ball club. Mee was the first ever recipient of the Herb Carneal Lifetime Achievement Award and he was inducted into the Twins Hall of Fame in 2013.

Mee is survived by his wife Noreene. He was 88.
