Vikings Promote Toby Johnson To Active Roster, Place Floyd On IR

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) – The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday they have promoted defensive tackle Toby Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster.

To make room for him on the 53-man roster, the Vikings placed defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd on injured reserved. Floyd played in just one game this season for the Vikings and did not record a tackle.

Floyd has been slowed by injuries throughout his four seasons with the Vikings. He missed three games last year and two back in 2014. In four seasons, he has 9.5 sacks and 57 total tackles.

Floyd is still recovering from having knee surgery back in September.
