Timberwolves Give Shopping Spree To Kids In Need

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One of the best parts of the holiday season is time spent with loved ones, but for kids waiting to be adopted, it can be lonely.

So tonight: Timberwolves stars like Karl-Anthony Towns, Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins gave 20 kids waiting to be adopted a suprise shopping spree.

The kids each got to spend $500 donated by Nancy and Roger McCabe, and they got an Element TV. Of course, shopping with towering basketball stars was pretty fun too.

"You look at the children here, and you especially see these little kids, and your heart just breaks to think they're looking for a home," donor Nancy McCabe said.

"It's great to do this for kids, you know? Coming from where I'm from, you don't get to do this a lot," 18-year-old Devon said.

Devon and the other kids made two lists, one for what they need and one for what they want. They covered things like warm clothes for winter, but he also got a drone.
