MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Icy road conditions are likely to blame for the death of an Apple Valley man Wednesday morning in Cloquet.

The Carlton County Sheriff’s office says John Frederick Schultz, 69, was killed when he lost control of his truck on Highway 33 near Interstate 35 just before 10 a.m.

His vehicle went down an embankment before striking some trees.

The sheriff’s office says alcohol was not detected on the victim, and he was wearing his seat belt.
