MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The plan to build an ice castle in Vadnais Heights for next year’s Super Bowl has melted away.
The city had planned a “Lights and Ice” palace for the week of the big game, which included an ice maze, ice skating and live music.
However, the owners of the preferred site decided to not lease the land to the city, and alternate sites weren’t a good fit.
The city council voted in favor of canceling the event.
