Eagle Ridge Classes Canceled After Sprinklers Go Off

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's not snowflakes that are to blame for a Friday morning school closing announcement.

Eagle Ridge Academy classes were canceled after the sprinklers went off early in the morning.

Fire crews responded and found no fire damage, but noted moderate smoke and water damage on the first and second floors of the building's west side.

The school said the damage "appears to be mostly cosmetic."

Classes are expected to resume Monday.
