Recount Finds Warsame Had 239 More Votes In 6th Ward

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A recount Tuesday for a Minneapolis City Council seat ended four and-a-half hours after it started.

Election officials say Abdi Warsame got 239 more votes than Mohamud Noor during the election for the 6th Ward.

Warsame is the incumbent. Noor asked for the recall.

At 1:30 p.m., Noor withdrew the request.

The City Canvassing Board will meet Friday to certify Warsame as the winner.
