Xcel To Deliver One-Time Bill Credits After Last Year's Federal Tax Act

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- People will soon start noticing a credit on their next electricity bill.

Xcel Energy says most of its $136 million gain from last year's federal tax act will go directly to its customers.

It means someone who pays between $85 to $90 per month will get a refund of about $45 as a one-time bill credit.

Someone who pays around $48 or less will see about $8.

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission voted unanimously to distribute the money.

Xcel says refunds should be made by the end of the year.
