Roseville Burglary Standoff Ends After No One Found Inside Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Roseville police say an eight-hour standoff involving a suspected home burglary ended after a sweep of the home yielded no suspects.

Officers arrived to the residence on the 2500 block of Charlotte Street North at about 1:30 p.m. after a 911 caller said they saw someone kick in a neighbor's door.

Police arrived and set up a perimeter, then saw a man exit through one of the home's windows, then quickly reenter through the same window.

A 37-year-old woman then exited the home through a door, and was taken into custody for questioning. She told police the man was still inside and may have a knife. Investigators say the woman changed her story several times, but initially said she met him at a gas station, then walked around the neighborhood with him until he decided to break into a home.

The intersection of Charlotte Street North and Oakcrest Avenue were blocked off for hours as the Ramsey County SWAT team aided officers in the standoff.

At about 9:55 p.m., authorities entered the home to find it empty. Police are still searching for the suspect.
