Intoxicated Passenger Prompts Emergency Landing In The Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Norwegian Air flight bound for Paris made an emergency landing early Wednesday morning in the Twin Cities due to an intoxicated passenger.

MSP Airport officials say Norwegian Air flight DY7080, which departed from Oakland, was diverted to Minnesota because of the unruly man.

The plane landed in the Twin Cities at about 1:30 a.m. Police took the man to Hennepin Health in downtown Minneapolis. The plane remained on the tarmac for 90 minutes, according to Norwegian Air officials, and arrived in Paris three hours behind schedule.

FBI officials, who have jurisdiction in this case, say the man has not been taken into custody as of Wednesday afternoon. It is not clear if the man will be arrested or face criminal charges.
