St. Paul Police: 1 Shot Dead In Summit-University Neighborhood

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man is dead following a shooting Thursday night in St. Paul.

The St. Paul Police Department says officers responded to the shooting around 8:45 p.m. on the 700 block of Carroll Avenue, in the Summit-University neighborhood.

Police found a man dead in a vehicle with a gunshot wound. The victim's name has not been released.

St. Paul police spokesperson Steve Linders says people were in the area at the time of the shooting.

"I don't know if it was a large group, but there were people around," he said. "Hopefully some of them know what happened or saw what happened and hopefully some of them will talk to us."

Police say this is the fifth homicide of the year.
