Gov. Tim Walz Announces 1-Day Special Session To Be Held Friday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota's governor has called for a special one-day legislative session for Friday -- but the Republican House minority leader says his party is not in agreement over the session's end time.

Gov. Tim Walz announced that Republican Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka and Democratic House Majority Leader Melissa Hortman agreed with him to a session that will begin Friday at 10 a.m., and will adjourn by 7 a.m. Saturday.
But WCCO-TV's Pat Kessler says Republican House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt says he did not agree to the end time, and that he could withhold votes necessary to suspend rules to pass bills.
Lawmakers seek to finalize the state budget for the next two years in this brief session, with the health and human services bill being the last major sticking point.
The regular 2019 legislative session ended on Monday.
