A Dike On Lake Zumbro In Southern Minnesota Breached On Friday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Officials in Olmsted County say a dike was breached at the lower pond of the Lake Zumbro dredging project, around 3 p.m. on Friday.

No one was hurt, and minimal property damage occurred, but water flowed back into Lake Zumbro.

The project had been nearing completion, and now a new timetable will need to be set.

Law enforcement officials were on site to assess damage and determine what to do.
