Cars Collides With Light Rail Train In Downtown Minneapolis; Driver Expected To Be OK

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A driver was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a car collided with a light rail train in downtown Minneapolis.

Metro Transit says the crash happened on 3rd Avenue South, close to the Government Plaza light rail station. Blue and Green trains were briefly delayed as crews worked to clear the tracks.

A spokesperson for Metro Transit says the driver is believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
