Thieves Smash Through Minneapolis Impound Lot Gate, Steal Jeep Grand Cherokee

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- City officials say a group of people stole a vehicle late Tuesday afternoon from the Minneapolis Impound Lot.

The thieves smashed through the lot's front gate at about 4:30 p.m. in a Volkswagen Jetta, and then stole a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been brought there by police. Officials say both vehicles then sped away from the scene.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 911.
