Edina Officials: 'Potential Domestic Disturbance' Incident Resolved Peacefully

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Edina city officials say a potential domestic disturbance incident has been resolved peacefully Wednesday.

Shortly after noon, officers responded to a possible domestic disturbance at an apartment on the 6000 block of Eden Prairie Road, with the reporting party claiming that they heard gunshots and a domestic dispute in the early hours of the morning.

When officers arrived, they attempted to make contact with the apartment's occupants, but no one answered the door.

"Out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of those nearby, officers evacuated nearby units in the apartment building and requested that those in the immediate area shelter in place," city officials said in a statement.

At 1:44 p.m., officers made peaceful contact with those inside and gained entry to the residence. Four individuals left the apartment without incident and no charges have been filed.

Investigators remained on the scene Wednesday afternoon.
