The National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska says the area covered by moderate drought or worse expanded by nearly five percentage points to 36.8 percent during March.
Minnesota May Be On Verge Of DroughtAlmost the entire state of Minnesota is abnormally dry, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. More than 98 percent of the state is on the verge of a moderate drought, which is a 20 percent increase from last week. Less than 25 percent of the state was in that range back in October.
