Thad Young Returns To Wolves After Mom's DeathThaddeus Young has returned to the Minnesota Timberwolves following the death of his mother. Young practiced on Monday for the first time since Lulu Hall died of cancer on Nov. 13. Young missed five games while mourning her passing.

Pekovic To Miss At Least Next 3 Games With InjuryTimberwolves center Nikola Pekovic will miss at least the next three games because of a sprained right wrist. Coach Flip Saunders made the announcement on Tuesday. Pekovic was injured last week against Dallas. He will not play in home games this week against the Knicks, Spurs and Kings. Saunders says Pekovic will be re-evaluated at the start of next week.

Thaddeus Young Passes Concussion TestsMinnesota Timberwolves forward Thaddeus Young has passed concussions tests and returned to practice after a scary collision with Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler on Saturday night. Young took an inadvertent elbow to the head from Butler shortly before halftime on Saturday. He remained down on the court for more than 10 minutes while Timberwolves medical staff tended to him and was unable to finish the game.
Young, Wolves Hold Off Pistons 97-91Thaddeus Young scored 19 points and hit a big 3-pointer with 90 seconds to play to lift the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 97-91 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night. Nikola Pekovic had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Ricky Rubio added 11 points, eight assists and seven boards for the Timberwolves in their home opener. Caron Butler scored 24 points and D.J. Augustin had 20 points and six assists for the Pistons, who have opened the season with two straight losses on the road under first-year coach Stan Van Gundy.
